Webinar Firmware compliant with RED and CRA 2025

We are organizing a free webinar on the new European RED and CRA requirements. First session on September 19th.
The year 2025 looks set to be decisive for the European IoT industry. Between the implementation of the reinforced RED directive on August 1st and the progressive application of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), connected equipment manufacturers face an unprecedented dual regulatory challenge.
To support industry players in this major transition, PICODEV announces the launch of a free technical webinar program, developed in partnership with IS Laboratory, a notified body specializing in cybersecurity certification.
An unprecedented technical and regulatory partnership
"The new European requirements fundamentally transform the design of IoT embedded systems," explains Stéphane Masson, founding CEO of PICODEV. "Articles 3.3(d), (e) and (f) of the RED directive, combined with CRA obligations, require a new technical approach that we have mastered for several years on our client projects."
This expertise, forged over 25 years of firmware development and realized on industrial projects such as Legrand lighting management systems or DualSun solar regulation units, now finds a natural complement in IS Laboratory's regulatory know-how.
The security analysis laboratory IS Laboratory, recognized for its cybersecurity assessment skills, will bring its expertise in certification processes and navigation through the complex European normative landscape.
In-depth technical program
The inaugural webinar, scheduled for September 19th from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, will offer a complete breakdown of the new obligations:
Regulatory section: detailed analysis of RED articles 3.3(d)(e)(f), presentation of harmonized standards EN 18031 with their current restrictions, and overview of CRA requirements for products with digital elements.
Technical section: concrete implementation solutions with Zephyr RTOS, ESP32 IDF and STM32, secure OTA update strategies via mcuBoot, and communication protection architectures.
Practical section: field experience feedback, analysis of concrete use cases (LoRa sensors, Bluetooth objects, industrial systems), and interactive Q&A session with experts from both organizations.
Schedule and registration procedures
The first session will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, in interactive webinar format. With places limited to 25 participants to ensure quality exchanges, registration is now open.
Target audience: firmware developers, R&D managers, IoT project managers, and technical directors facing European 2025 compliance challenges.
Prerequisites: basic knowledge of embedded systems and IoT. No prior cybersecurity expertise required.
